David Lerner
David Lerner launched his signature collection of
updated leggings in August of 2008. A strong passion for design and an
appreciation for fashion brought Lerner to his newest venture, an
inspiring collection of luxe wardrobe staples. The DL Collection
immediately cultivated an impressive roster of celebrity clients
including Halle Berry, Megan Fox, Nicky Hilton, Shenae Grimes, Miley
Cyrus, and Hilary Duff. Lerner lives between New York and Los Angeles,
and was inspired by the casual lifestyle of LA and the fashionable,
street-style of New York. “I wanted to create clothing that combined
both aesthetics that is flattering and comfortable. A versatile,
incredibly wearable collection that makes women feel sexy and
confident”, says Lerner.
The core of the DL Collection consists of fashion-forward
leggings that are of the highest quality, edgy with great detailing.
The DL design team adds flair by incorporating hardware elements such
as heavy metal zippers, hook and eye closures, lace and sequin
embellishments, as well as combining different tonal and fabric
combinations with varied seam detailing. Combining style with ease, the
standard fabric used in the DL Collection is of much higher quality
than most leggings currently on the market. Supplex®, the fabric worn
by the world’s leading dance companies, is what Lerner insisted on
using because it prevents pilling and fading, while allowing the
garments to retain a close, flattering fit. The entire collection is
produced in New York City.
For spring ’09, Lerner launched the DL Organic Tee Collection,
featuring updated basic bodies such as sexy scoop and v-necks, pocket
tees, racer-back tanks and button downs. These perfectly slouchy
T-shirts have been carefully created through organic techniques that
create a stylish, natural silhouette. The collection is made from 100%
organic hemp, one of the most environmentally friendly fibers in the
world. Hemp requires no pesticides, fertilizers and very little water
in its growth, making it one of our most efficient natural materials.
