Terri Michele Fragrances is the inspiration of Michele Kaplan. A lifelong fragrance aficionado with a very sensitive nose, the mother of three became even more passionate about perfume as her daughters grew independent. Finding a signature scent—light and clean, yet lasting—was an ever-present challenge in a sea of similar, trendy fragrances. Never one to do things timidly, Michele came up with a solution: turning a hobby into a business, she created her own fragrance company.
“A signature fragrance should be unique and magnetic, but the true essence of a woman, rather than a mere spritz from a bottle,” Michele says. “It should be a part of you, worn and noticed as if it comes from within.”
Enter Shenandoah. The scent that launched the company in 2007 is an inviting combination of beautiful notes Michele had fallen in love with, refined, and perfected. It is a clean, aquatic fragrance with classic appeal and superb staying power, just like the woman behind it.
Michele believes that everything in life must be born of sincerity and passion. Her commitment to her company and her customers is three-fold: each scent is a custom blend she herself wears; each is multi-faceted, distinctive, and original, with the power to reflect the spirit of the wearer; each is blended with integrity—and the finest ingredients available.
Discovering the perfect fragrance is Michele’s passion; developing it is her obsession; bringing it to market is her gift to you.
Our Green Promise
Believing that everything in life must come from passion, Michele set out to create a product that was beautiful both inside and out. Beyond decorating the packaging to reflect the fragrance’s beauty, she also wanted to create a product that was truly eco-conscious.
TERRI MICHELE PAPER PACKAGING:
All of the Terri Michele Fragrances boxes are produced using paper that is
approved by the Forest Stewardship Council, the leader for environmentally
appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable forests. Products
carrying the FSC label are independently certified to assure they come
from forests that are managed to meet the social, economic and ecological
needs of present and future generations. Look for the FSC logo on all Terri
Michele Fragrances boxes. http://www.fsc.org/about-fsc.html
TERRI MICHELE PLASTIC:
Knowing that not all areas have proper recycling facilities the Terri Michele Fragrances team searched for bottles created from post consumer regrind (PCR). We are proud to present our lotions and body washes in bottles made entirely of repurposed milk jugs, or HDPE. At 100% HDPE, these bottles contain the highest percentage of postconsumer recycled materials in the industry and are fully recyclable.
Look for the number 2 on the bottom of Terri Michele Fragrances lotion and body wash bottles.
TERRI MICHELE GLASS:
Understanding that glass can be recycled over and over again, Michele encourages you to recycle fragrance bottles. Recycling glass to make new glass requires 40% less energy than creating all new glass. Feel good about saving a bottle from a landfill and saving energy as well.
THE TERRI MICHELE OFFICE:
When choosing the materials for the company collateral, Michele opted for recycled paper for all of the business cards, stationary, and office supplies. She feels it is important to be green even in the places the customer won’t necessarily see.
Michele feels strongly that more and more people are sharing in the belief that recycling is similar to karma—what goes around comes around. She hopes that the Terri Michele Fragrances green story makes it even easier to fall in love with her beloved Shenandoah.
